Description
Summary:In the theological controversies that, between the 17th and 18th centuries, contrasted Molinists and Jansenists on the themes of grace, of the supernatural end of the creature, of morality, and of the discipline of sacraments, the Augustinian Hermits occupy a difficult position, being constantly accused of pro-Jansenist stances. In reality the Augustinianism defended by theologians such as Enrico Noris, Fulgenzio Bellelli, Gianlorenzo Berti is an alternative to the scholastic theology of a Molinist matrix, as well as to the Baian and Jansenist systems. It is a positive theology based on the relationship between man and God in accordance with the historical categories of the Scriptures and on the teachings of the Fathers. (English)
