Zusammenfassung:In 2012 communal violence between Buddhists and Muslims in Burma surfaced. Many people died, and many others became refugees as a result of this communal violence. This is not a new phenomenon in Burma; yet, the relationship between Buddhists and Muslims in Burma has not always been hostile. This article argues that their broken friendship must be restored. There are many things that people can do to restore the friendship between Buddhists and Muslims in Burma. The festival of Eid al-Adha can bring reconciliation. The nature of the festival of Eid al-Adha provides the reasons why this festival can restore the friendship between the two groups. Christians in Burma also have a role to play in restoration as they act as brokers of peace for Buddhists and Muslims.
