Description
Summary:The re-emergence of African spiritualities is a part of the religious vs spirituality development debate that is ongoing and is sometimes more emphatic outside of the African continent. Africa is said to be domesticating the future of humanity. This is not entirely wrong. A good way to indulge in this view would be to understand the spirit of Africa, embedded in the traditional spiritualities that constructed the cultures, societies, habits, orientations, and worldviews of Africans as a people. Understanding and addressing African spiritualities, is an important key to understanding and addressing Africa, especially on a globalised platform. This article intends to address the relevance of African spiritualities to Africa and through the model of mutual enrichment, how certain factors of these spiritualities could be properly harnessed for the revival of Africa and for the benefit of the religious world at large. This model can be effectively applied in different religions, showing the need for religious complementarity.
