| Summary: | Este artigo tem por objetivo analisar os possíveis imbricamentos entre política e protestantismo a partir da percepção de jovens universitários evangélicos que integram a International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES). No intuito de compreender a perspectiva desses jovens foi desenvolvido um questionário que foi aplicado via Google Forms em vinte países da América Latina, obtendo 228 respostas. A pesquisa foi orientada metodologicamente pela Sociologia Reflexiva de Pierre Bourdieu, especificamente pela lógica da Teoria Geral dos Campos. Concluímos que esse grupo de jovens mantém relativo distanciamento com a política sob a pretensão de que a religião deve ser neutra politicamente. Um resultado perceptível do estudo é que esse distanciamento produz um afastamento desses jovens junto aos movimentos sociais e também junto à realidade social em seus respectivos países, sendo que esse suposto vácuo social é ocupado pela religião, que pode favorecer concepções ideológicas e reforçar a noção de controle social por parte do campo religioso. This article aims to analyze the possible overlap between politics and Protestantism from the perception of young evangelical university students who are part of the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES). In order to understand the perspective of these young people, a questionnaire wasdeveloped and applied via Google Forms in twenty countries in Latin America, obtaining a total of 228 responses. The research was methodologically oriented by Pierre Bourdieu's Reflective Sociology, more specificallyby the logic of the General Field Theory. We conclude that this group of young people maintains a relative distance with politics under the pretense that religion must remain politically neutral. A noticeable result in the study is that this supposed distancing produces a distancing of these young people from the social movements and also from the social reality in their respective countries, and this social vacuum is occupied by the logic of the Protestant religion, a fact that can favor the conceptions ideological and reinforce the notion of social control by religion in relation to the youth category. Este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar el posible traslape entre política y protestantismo desde la percepción de jóvenes universitarios evangélicos que forman parte de la International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES). Para comprender la perspectiva de estos jóvenes, se desarrolló y aplicó un cuestionario vía Google Forms en veinte países de América Latina, obteniendo un total de 228 respuestas. La investigación estuvo orientada metodológicamente por la Sociología Reflexiva de Pierre Bourdieu, más específicamente por la lógica de la Teoría General del Campo. Concluimos que este grupo de jóvenes mantiene una relativa distancia con la política bajo el pretexto de que la religión debe permanecer políticamente neutral. Un resultado notable del estudio es que este supuesto distanciamiento produce un distanciamiento de estos jóvenes de los movimientos sociales y también de la realidad social en sus respectivos países, y este vacío social es ocupado por la lógica de la religiónprotestante, hecho que puede favorecer las concepciones. ideológicos y refuerzan la noción de control social por parte de la religión en relación con la categoría juvenil. |
