Description
Summary:The ecclesiology of communion set forth in Lumen Gentium represents a fundamental theological premise for an appropriate hermeneutic of synodality. The reform of ecclesial frameworks, towards which Pope Francis is directing the Church, seems to be pursuing the intention of translating theological orthodoxy into pastoral orthopraxis. Instead of the projection of preconceived ideas onto ecclesial reality and experience, we have the search for a unity that takes on the plurality of contexts, cultures and identities. In addition, the instrument of collegiality is placed to listen to the whole «people of God», commencing with preferential attention to the human promotion of the poor and the safeguarding of creation.
