Description
Summary:After the end of the Ottoman Empire and the establishment of the Turkish Republic, Kemal Atatürk wanted this new State to turn towards the West and become part of it, but this attempt succeeded only in part. The collapse of the USSR and the emergence of new independent Turkish states in the Caucasus and Central Asia gave Turkish foreign policy a new direction. Turkey is trying to create an alliance of Turkic states from the Chinese border to the Balkans. Today, we are witnessing the emergence of a new “super-State” built on the ruins of the Soviet Union.
