Description
Summary:The study of North African Christianity is often approached in sectors: there are theologians and scholars of patristic studies, archaeologists who deal with architecture and iconography, and social historians. These different disciplines often run in parallel without reference to one another; this book crosses these false boundaries by combining textual evidence, religious practices, and archaeological evidence. This volume is fundamentally important for a second reason: it provides (primarily in the first chapters) a summary in English of the studies produced on North Africa, a field where, especially concerning archaeology, the majority of publications are in French or Italian.
