Seit dem 03.09.1981 ist nämlich die Konvention über die Aufhebung aller Formen von Diskriminierung hinsichtlich der Frau in Kraft getreten. Diese Konvention der UN definiert deutlich, was unter Sexismus zu verstehen ist; sie fasst darunter auch die Spezifikation, sobald diese auf sexueller Diskriminierung basiert. Es handelt sich allerdings nicht um Gleichmacherei, sondern lediglich um eine sinnvolle Einbeziehung der Unterschiede der Geschlechter bei der Organisation der Gesellschaft.
