Summary: | Christian Education of the Children in non-Christian Contexts - Following a preliminary definition of the concept and aim of Christian education of the children and a survey of the 1917 Code related provisions, of the encyclical letter "Divini illius Magistri", of the II Vatican Council's teaching and of the current CIC/1983, the articules focusses on the present legal situation in some Countries. The research is limited to those systems which counter the parents' full exercise of the right-duty to give the children a Christian education: this perspective is based on the idea that altough the parents are the main holders of the ius et obligatio educandi they can't perform it on their own as they need the help and assistance of the civil authority and the Church as well |
