Description
Summary:The article starts off from the competence of the diocesan bishop with respect to missionary cooperation (can. 782 § 2), in order to specify the outline and delineate an essential organizational framework (can. 791, 2°), keeping in account the reality of the Pontifical Missionary Works. The specificity of the current Italian situation is analysed, by trying to illustrate in some detail the indications of the Italian Bishops' Conference in regard to the diocesan missionary centre. In the presentation of this reality emphasis is put on the progressive specification of competences, and finally, a possible evaluation that could be given to the nomenclature: Diocesan Missionary Office.
