| Итог: | The Union of Utrecht of the Old-Catholic Churches, formed in 1889, gathers churches which fall into three groups. The first one is the Church of Utrecht, i.e. the mother church for the later created Old Catholic Churches which constitute the second group that reject the dogmas proclaimed at the First Vatican Council, namely the dogma of papal infallibility in faith and morality matters and the dogma of the universal jurisdiction of the Roman Pontiff over the whole Church; the third group includes the following churches: the Polish National Catholic Church (PNCC) in the USA and Canada, the Polish Catholic Church in the Republic of Poland, the Old Catholic Church in the Czech Republic and the Croation Catholic Church. The present article juxtaposes the aforementioned Churches' approach to the sacrament of marriage taking into consideration such elements, inter alia, as diriment impediments to marriage, conditions related to marital consent, nullity of marriage or - with a special emphasis - conclusion of marriage by proxy. The juxtaposition is set against the historical and legal grounds, both from perspectives of the State and the said Churches |
