| Σύνοψη: | The question about human nature has been cyclically eyed with suspicion by philosophers. The reasons for this diffidence are multiple. On the one hand, the notion of nature is ambiguous right from the start. It can indicate both the principle of what it is or, better, becomes and the world as it is: the physical universe. Of course, modern science is interested in nature, but does not know what to make of its essence. On the other hand, the concept of human nature cannot and need not be validated only from the outside, because human nature is just an inside perspective, not a thing at all. In this sense, it is and is bound to be an essentially philosophical notion or, better, image. |
