| Summary: | Neste artigo, veremos como compreender mais corretamente a visão tradicional de “homem” e “mulher” e tomamos como referência a filosofia de Tomás de Aquino. Buscaremos fazer melhor definição possível de tal visão tradicional, apresentando argumentos que a torne coerente. Neste sentido, questões muito problemáticas serão revisadas, como a mulher ser considerada um “defeito” ou “falha” da natureza, ter uma “função passiva” no sexo, ser “sujeita socialmente” ao homem e o pecado original ser culpa da mulher. Essas questões não serão tornadas coerentes no sentido de que estamos justificando tais situações, mas essas questões serão revisadas no sentido de se compreender melhor o que induziu os antigos e medievais a entenderem as coisas desse modo. Muitos entendem erroneamente que os antigos e medievais defendiam esses pensamentos por um mero preconceito sexista, construindo sistemas com a intenção de ofender e diminuir as mulheres. É contra esta posição errada que estamos produzindo esse artigo, pois veremos que os medievais não tiveram intenção de ofender as mulheres porque eles não tinham escolha em face do conhecimento da época, atribuindo pesos e responsabilidades para cada sexo conforme a natureza que os descrevia, apesar de que talvez os seus instrumentos não tenham sido suficientes para tal objetivo. É importante esclarecer que o artigo não pretende fazer oposição ao movimento feminista, pois reconhecemos as necessidades históricas de tal movimento. Na verdade, nossa abordagem de definição pode ajudar a esclarecer os mal-entendidos e oferecer benefícios para o movimento feminista, tal como exporemos nas Considerações Finais. In this article, we will see how to understand more accurately the traditional view of “man” and “woman” and we was taken as reference the philosophy of Thomas Aquinas. We seek to do the best possible definition of such traditional view, presenting arguments that make it coherent. In this sense, very problematic questions will be reviewed, as the woman be considered a "defect" or “failure” of nature, have a "passive role" in the sex, be subjected socially to man and be guilty for original sin. These questions will not be made coherent in the sense that we are justifying such situations, but these questions will be reviewed in order to better understand what induced the ancient and medieval understand it that way. Many people believe mistakenly that the ancient and medieval defended these thoughts for a mere sexist preconception, building systems with the intention of offending and diminish the women. It is against this position wrong that we are producing this article because we will see that the medievals had not intention of offending women, because they hadn’t choice in face of the knowledge of the epoch , assigning weights and responsibilities for each sex as the nature that they described, although maybe their instruments were not sufficient for this purpose.It is important to clarify that the article does not intend to object to the feminist movement, because we recognize the historical needs of such movement. In reality, our definition approach can help clarify misunderstandings and provide benefits to the feminist movement, such as we will expose in the Final Considerations. |
