| Summary: | O autor apresenta neste artigo um breve retrospecto do movimento ecumênico na América Latina, destacando a caminhada do CLAI e outras iniciativas em busca da unidade de fé e testemunho evangélicos. Propõe como desafios para um ecumenismo aberto ao século 21 três atitudes que correspondem ao espírito da fé cristã: convivência, confiança e solidariedade a serem desenvolvidas para a credibilidade do testemunho cristão num mundo dividido e contraditório. In this article, the author presents a brief historical perspective of the ecumenical movement in Latin America, with attention to the trajectory of the CLAI – Latin American Council of Churches – and other organizations who seek the unity of faith and evangelical testimony. In order to provide an ecumenism open to the 21 century, he proposes three attitudes which belong to the spirit of Christian faith: conviviality, confidence and solidarity. These characteristics need to be developed for the credibility of the Christian testimony in a divided and contradictory world. |
