总结:The author examines the Instruction on the ecclesial role of the theologian Donum Veritatis, paying particular attention to the issue of theological dissent. Evaluating it, she appeals to the 'helpful voice' of Newman, who once wrote: 'Out of the collision of flint and steel, the light of truth has been ignited.1 His ideas about the role of a schola theologorum are still helpful, it is argued, and indeed comforting, to the theologian struggling with the Instruction.
