Zusammenfassung: | The present volume represents the proceedings of a conference held in 2004 in the Catholic University of Leuven. It was here that Professor J. Coppens produced his body of work on royal messianism, arguing that the roots of New Testament messianism lay in the LXX. It was also in Leuven that his later successor, Johan Lust, developed a rigorous, even minimalistic, analysis of the phenomenon in Hebrew and Greek., The first part of the volume is fittingly devoted to three papers on methodology. Although the authors differ in their approach, they are in broad agreement that one has to be very careful when speaking of ‘the theology of the translator’. |
