Description
Summary:Evagrius of Pontus (c.345–99) has of late been the subject of a thoroughgoing rehabilitation, much of which is due to the sterling labours and striking perspicacity of Fr Gabriel Bunge. Augustine Casiday has set himself very much in the train of this eremitical scholar, to whom this volume is respectfully dedicated. As Casiday observes, Evagrius has been decisively retrieved from the ‘dustbins of history’ through the efforts of Bunge and others.
