Resumo:Media coverage of Iraq generally has overlooked the daily lives of ordinary Iraqis. In all the wars Iraq has endured since 1980, we have lost sight of human faces. Every nation is its people, not merely its geographic territory, and these people are all made in the image of God. The illustrations accompanying this article include both images of Iraq's geography (the land) and an image, in the shape of Iraq, formed out of the faces of many different ordinary Iraqi people, from all different religious and geographical areas of the country. In the center of this image is the face of Jesus on the cross. In the suffering of the Iraqi people, I have seen the face of God.
