Le présent article cherche d'une part à établir cette influence en retraçant diverses étapes de la formation intellectuelle et théologique de cette figure importante du Baptisme français, d'autre part à comprendre l'attirance de l'"École de Paris" sur un intellectuel imprégné par le spiritualisme moral de l'école de la République et par les mentalités urbaine et bourgeoise de la "Belle Époque".» The pastor Philémon Vincent (1860-1929) was deeply influenced by the theological education he was given in the Paris Protestant Faculty, in particular by the idea of "credal fideism". The present article seeks on the one hand to define this influence by retracing various stages in the intellectual and theological formation of this important figure in the French Baptist movement, and on the other to understand the attraction of the "Paris School" for an intellectual imbued with the moral spirituality of the Republican school system and with the urban and bourgeois mentality of the "Belle Époque". Pastor Philémon Vincent (1860-1929) ist stark geprägt worden durch die theologische Lehre an der protestantischen Fakultät von Paris, insbesondere den Symbolo-Fideismus. Im vorliegenden Artikel werden einerseits verschiedene Abschnitte der intellektuellen und theologischen Bildung dieses wichtigen Vertreters der französischen Baptisten untersucht, um herauszuarbeiten wie dieser Einfluss aussah, andererseits soll verständlich gemacht werden, welche Anziehungskraft die Pariser Schule auf einen vom moralischen Spiritualismus der republikanischen Schule und den städtischen und bürgerlichen Mentalitäten der „Belle Époque“ geprägten Intellektuellen ausgeübt hat. |
