Description
Summary:The article inquires into a series of positions, doctrines and campaigns launched by 13th and 14th century Franciscan writers that have not stopped playing an important role since the process of « legalization » (Verrechtlichung) to which Western society had been subjected; the history of the relationship between legal and scientific (e. g. theological) disciplines (as between John XXII and Ockham); the advent of a society no longer «master in its own house» (Freud); some difficulties in thinking the relation between Franciscan poverty and «abdicatio» and the contribution of Franciscans to the growth of law and economy.
