L’articolo prende in considerazione una serie di posizioni, dottrine e tendenze inaugurate dai francescani dei secoli tredicesimo e quattordicesimo, tra cui rientrano: il processo di graduale «legalizzazione» attraversato dalla società occidentale; la storia del rapporto fra teologi (come Guglielmo d’Occam) e giuristi (come il suo antagonista, Papa Giovanni XXII); l’emergere di una società non più «maestra nella sua propria casa» (Freud); alcune difficoltà nel pensare il rapporto fra povertà francescana e «abdicatio» e il ruolo giocato dai francescani nello sviluppo dell’economia e del diritto. | ||
