| Summary: | Il “non essere” (nel senso assoluto dell’espressione) è un termine non denotante. Esso ha però una duplice funzione: quella di distinguere “essere” e “pensiero” e quella di determinare il significato di entrambi. Invece, il nihil che compare nella classica espressione productio rei ex nihilo sui et subiecti è qualcosa di relativo alla realtà che viene creata: per questo, esso non indica alcuna situazione autocontraddittoria. Alla sua determinazione, così come alla determinazione del teorema di creazione, hanno contribuito i principali interpreti della metafisica occidentale – come il testo che qui si presenta cerca di mettere in luce. “Not being”, considered in its absolute meaning, does not denote anything. But it performs a double task: that of distinguishing “being” and “thought” and that of determining the proper meaning of both. The meaning of the term nihil that appears in the well-known expression productio rei ex nihilo sui et subiecti is very different, because it is concerned with the reality created by God. Thus this is not an inconsistent expression. This work aims at pointing out some major contributions of the classic metaphysical tradition to the understanding of the proper meaning of this expression, which is clearly involved in the metaphysical theory of creation. |
