Summary:The article presents a discussion of the martyrdom of Cistercian monks of Casamari in Italy, adapted from the article "Les Martyrs de Casamari 13-16 mai 1799" by Pierdomenico M. Volpi which appeared in a 2020 issue of "Collectanea Cisterciensia." Prior Fr. Simeone Maria Cardon died due to the injuries he sustained from the French revolutionary soldiers in 1799. The other martyr monks include Fr. Domenico Maria Zavrel, Brother Albertino Maria Maisonade, and Brother Modesto Maria Burgon.
