Description
Summary:The dating of the site of Khirbet Qeiyafa by its excavators to the early Iron Age IIA (Garfinkel and Ganor 2009) has generated considerable interest, especially among Tel Aviv University scholars (Finkelstein and Piasetzky 2010; Singer-Avitz 2010). This paper is a response to Singer-Avitz's recently published argument (2012). On the basis of archaeological, quantitative and typological considerations, it is suggested that the site's original dating to the early Iron Age IIA should be maintained.
