Σύνοψη: | Late the evening of Jan 9th I boarded the train for the direct 28-hour train trip to Allahabad. A group of people were at the small station of Chheonki, to meet me at 12:30 a.m. Jan 11. During my two days there I met many people and saw the educational and medical work, scattered in and near Allahabad. But the thing I remember most clearly is the fine dinner party Mrs. Higginbottom had at which I met all of the younger missionaries working there. By some chance a fine turkey escaped both Thanksgiving and Christmas feasts and was served at this dinner. A great feeling rolled over me, that if we have such good things to eat in India I'm going to like it. And I never had any reason to change that impression. |
