| Summary: | Before some moments of history, one has the impression, sometimes, that the human being and nature are opponents, due to so many aggressions provoked to the environment. So many clues show that the earth’s climate has abruptly altered by works of influential human behavior. In an attempt to help understand and respond to this great challenge, sustainability is considered as a minimizing element of this aggression. This is a central issue today. In order to create a new perspective for education, it is important to articulate education and sustainability in the awareness of environmental education. In the search to find a relationship between education and sustainability, this article aims to reflect on the ecological paradigm, the problem of sustainability, the challenges for a sustainable education, besides presenting sustainability as the integrating axis of education., Diante de alguns momentos da história, tem-se a impressão, que o ser humano e a natureza são adversários, devido a tantas agressões provocadas ao meio ambiente. Tantos indícios mostram que o clima da terra tem alterado bruscamente por obras de influentes comportamentos humanos. Na tentativa de ajudar a compreender e responder a esse grande desafio considera-se a sustentabilidade como um elemento para superar essa agressão. Trata-se de uma questão central hoje. Para que se possa pensar uma nova perspectiva para a educação, é importante articular educação e sustentabilidade na conscientização de uma educação ambiental. Na busca para encontrar relação entre educação e sustentabilidade, o presente artigo objetiva refletir sobre o paradigma ecológico, o problema da sustentabilidade, os desafios para uma educação sustentável, além de apresentar a sustentabilidade como o eixo integrador da educação. |
