Description
Summary:This article discusses European Parliament Resolution 2020/2215(INI) on the situation of sexual and reproductive health and rights in the European Union in the context of COVID19. In particular, it focuses on issues such as abortion and conscientious objection. The normative text is studied, in particular regarding whether the Parliament’s new resolution may imply a change of direction in European law and jurisprudence, as well as the influence that the definition of abortion as a fundamental right may entail in relation to the future jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights, and the scope for action available to Member States.
