Résumé: | The library in Portuguese Franciscan convents was always considered as an indispensable tool for the friars' instruction. The books, whose references we present in this article inventoried at the time of its extinction in1834, belonged to the Convent of Caparica, of the Arrábida Province. A possible reconstitution of the readings in this Franciscan community demonstrates, along almost three centuries, an accumulation of knowledge, representing different spiritual currents, always with the aim to build an update canon of written culture. |
