Sin embargo, durante el pontificado de Pío XII (1939-1958) existen precedentes de la normativa conciliar en escritos del propio Eugenio Pacelli, documentos episcopales y en la labor de diversos personajes de la jerarquía eclesiástica como Romano Guardini, Joseph Frings, Giacomo Lercaro o el propio Giovanni Montini, entre otros. Resaltando su trascendental papel, pretendemos ampliar los horizontes investigadores sobre la normativa artística del Vaticano II, subrayando la importancia histórica de estos precedentes para una comprensión global del concilio. | ||
