The literal symbolism AΩ from Revelations has a previous Jewish-Hellenistic attestation in the Septuagint. The translators from Alexandria used it for the Greek version of Ex 17:12. The word אמךנח, as an attribute of Yhwh in Deut 32:4, led them to a noteworthy translation of a targumic type, based on the symbolism, beginning, middle, end. |
