Description
Summary:In this article the importance of popularising theology in the new South Africa is emphasised by referring to the work of Willem Vorster, who did not specialise in popularising theology but was convinced that the results of theological research must be accessible to all. It is argued that the people of Africa are overwhelmingly religious and that Christianity is one of the fastest growing religions in Africa today. Traditional theological training does not fulfil all the needs and there is an increasing need for nonformal theological education. In nonformal theological education narrarives can and must play an important role. Popularised theology must be accessible, relevant and contextual.
