| Summary: | Il contributo prende atto, anzitutto, del significativo cambiamento di mentalità avvenuto anche tra i cattolici praticanti a riguardo della cremazione e soprattutto del successivo trattamento delle ceneri, constatando la crescita della tendenza a conservarle a domicilio o a disperderle, non sempre in aree appositamente predisposte. Dopo un breve excursus di carattere storico, che mostra il passaggio dal netto rifiuto all’accoglienza da parte della Chiesa della pratica di incenerire le salme, viene messo in risalto il senso cristiano della sepoltura con la conseguente presa di distanza da scelte che, sebbene permesse dallo Stato, non possono e non devono essere accettate da chi professa la propria appartenenza ecclesiale. La valorizzazione in chiave pastorale dell’Istruzione della Congregazione per la Dottrina della Fede “Ad resurgendum cum Christo”, ripresa nel Direttorio diocesano milanese per la celebrazione delle esequie, al quale è riservata una specifica attenzione, orienta a una rinnovata formazione dei cristiani in questo ambito e all’individuazione di soluzioni che incoraggino la tumulazione delle urne cinerarie. This paper acknowledges, first and foremost, the significant change of mentality which has come about also among practicing Catholics regarding cremation and above all the successive dealing with the ashes, observing the increase in the tendency to conserve these ashes at home or of scattering them in areas not always intended for such a purpose. After giving a brief historical background, which shows the passage from a clear cut refusal of cremation on the part of the Catholic Church, the true meaning of Christian burial is highlighted with a resulting distancing from choices which, even though civilly allowed, cannot and must not be accepted by those who claim to belong to the Church. The appreciation from a pastoral point of view of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith’s Instruction “Ad resurgendum cum Christo” which is cited in the Archdiocese of Milan’s Directory for the celebration of funerals, to which the paper gives particular attention, is oriented towards renewing the formation of Christians in this area and finding solutions which encourage the entombment of cinerary urns. |
