Summary:The contribution looks at the phases of migration of Orthodox Christians to Germany. it then shows the spheres of practical cooperation arising from the presence of Orthodox Churches in Germany on such issues as handling of mixed marriages or the use of Protestant places of worship by Orthodox congregations, in a second step the idea that theological engagement with Orthodox theology can enrich the ecumenical dialogue and free Protestant theology from a one-sided fixation on the denominational counterpart of the Roman Catholic sister church is unfolded.
