Description
Summary:In this essay I interpret the holy as an "absolute alterity" in relation to the profane. Therefore, if the profane correspond to the "world of things", the holy correspond to "nothing". Along their history, human beings have been trying to find a way to overcome such a disturbing "nothing". Hence, religion is interpreted as a technique that is useful in defending humanity from the holy by concealing it through a fictional world.
