| Summary: | In the historical and theological literature about the Second Vatican Council there are abundant references to the Chilean episcopate participation. The present theological study, taking into consideration the recorded Chilean interventions inside of the Acta Synodalia, seeks to note those that had more significant relationship with the doctrine on bishops. In this sense, not only is the material relevant to the constitution on the Church, but also other schemes, such as the one about missionary activity and that concerning the pastoral office of bishops. The Chilean suggestions that had some degree of participation in the established text are also presented, through the comparison of schemes in their various stages and the respective commission relatio. The results are exposed in three main areas: fullness of the sacrament of Orders; own faculties, not granted; and Episcopal Collegiality inside the mission of the Church and new structures. |
