Description
Summary:A Superior General notified the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life of the need to the institute’s constitution to accommodate the decreasing number and aging of members fourteen months prior to the next chapter. She requested preliminary approval of the changes to be voted on by the chapter and effective for elections at the same chapter. The Archbishop Secretary of the CICLSAL acknowledged and requested the Superior General resend the request once the changes had been approved by the chapter. The correspondence between the Superior General and the CICLSAL also addressed the future need for a Commissary when the institute was no longer able to provide its canonical governance. Following the vote of the chapter on the proposed changes, the Superior General forwarded the results to CICLSAL requesting approval for immediate implementation of the changes. The approval was granted and sent to the Superior General within 4 hours. The correspondence follows.
