Description
Summary:The article discusses the multidisciplinary nature of the contemporary study of religion, arguing that the study of religion is being transformed from a multidisciplinary field into interdisciplinary cooperation. The step towards interdisciplinarity is possible thanks to cognitive sciences, which provide a platform for collaboration for the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. I do not claim that cognitive science is the only legitimate ground on which different disciplines constituting the science of religion may cooperate. Perhaps some other options will crystallize in the future. But so far, it seems to be the only scientific endeavor that successfully integrated most essential dimensions of the study of religion.
