| Summary: | ThematterofintegrityisverycriticaltoChurchleadership.BecauseofthevaluepeoplegenerallyhaveforreligionandChristianityspecifically,Churchleadersareusuallyheldinhighesteem.TherespectbothChristiansandnon-ChristianshaveforChurchleadersdemandsthattheyliveabovereproach.Unfortunately,themoraldecadenceanddeclineinethicallivingstandardsofthesocietyareincreasinglymakingitdifficultforChurchleaderstoalsoliveright,andasaresult,manyChristianleadersaremessingupintheirrespectiveleadershipinthefamily,Church,andsocietyatlarge.ThesituationhasgivenavoicetomanycriticsoftheChurchandherleadersandthismenaceneedstobequicklyaddressed.Althoughthesocietyisdeterioratingondailybasis,God’sstandardforalifeofintegritybyChristiansandespeciallyChristianleadersremainsunchanged.TheDecaloguecontainsalotofthesebiblicalinjunctionsforanexemplarylifestyleofChurchleaders.Theauthorsareoftheopinionthat,ifChurchleaderscanliveright,thesocietywouldbebetter.Thiswork,therefore,usingexegeticalandhermeneuticaltoolswillcriticallyexaminetheethicalimplicationsofExodus20:13-17astheyrelate to the integrity of Church leaders. |
