Riepilogo:Postconflict reconciliation is a requirement for lasting and sustainable peace. The article conceptualizes peacebuilding as an emotion regulation process of group based emotions. The first part introduces a theoretical framework for analyzing emotion regulation processes involved in peace processes. The second section outlines some psycho-social intervention strategies and their effects on specific intergroup emotions. More specifically the focus is on how the alteration of group emotional states such as hatred, anger, guilt can pave way to the reinforcement of a hopeful and empathetic view of the future restoration of pacific relationships between adversaries. The conclusion briefly considers some educative implications, indicating some directions for future research. (English)
