Summary:The Bible has authority for the Christian today because he regards it as inspired by God. This authority is normally attributed only to a specific number of books. namely those that comprise the Christian canons. Does this imply that all other literature should be excluded from being authoritative for the life of the Christian? What about books containing incidents of bloodshed and violence that are included in the Bible -are they normative for Christian life?
