Description
Summary:In 1976 Micah research entered a new phase with the appearance of AS van der Woude's commentary. He took an individual line and placed a whole new theory on the table. He has three main theses as regards the book of Micah: 1. Chapters 1-5 come from Micah himself and chapters 6-7 from Deutero-Micah., 2. Chapters 2-5 is a dispute between Micah and his pseudo-prophetic opponents., 3. Chapter 1 is a sermon delivered by Micah at Lachish. The aim of this article is briefly to give attention to two matters. In the first place I will look at how the book of Micah should be understood, especially in the light of Van der Woude's theory. Secondly I wish to look at Van der Woude himself, with the emphasis on the method he uses in this commentary.
