Descripción
Sumario:In the field of non-formal education, international youth work has a long tradition and a variety of formats to enhance transnational learning. The article identifies different approaches, key institutions and current research. Comprehensive evaluation data from different countries underlines the educational potential of youth camps and youth encounters. However, religious issues are often neglected in this context, especially in a secular country like France. The article advocates that religiosity should be explicitly addressed in situations in which the participating groups come from countries with a very different understanding of the role of religion in public life, e.g. France and Poland.
