| Summary: | Resumo Este artigo representa uma aproximação introdutória à análise do método teológico desenvolvido por Millard Richard Shaull (1919-2002). Partindo das categorias dialéticas “mensagem” e “situação”, o artigo evidencia que a teologia de Richard Shaull representa uma tentativa de ressignificar a tradição cristã frente aos questionamentos levantados por novas situações históricas. Este processo contínuo de releitura enseja o desenvolvimento de um princípio hermenêutico, responsável pela mediação entre os símbolos cristãos e a situação existencial contemporânea. This article represents an introductory approach to the analysis of the theological method developed by Millard Richard Shaull (1919-2002). Starting from the dialectical categories “message” and “situation”, the article shows that Richard Shaull’s theology represents an attempt to give signification to the Christian tradition before the questions raised by new historical situations. This ongoing process of reinterpretation inspires the development of a hermeneutic principle, responsible for the mediation between the Christian symbols and the contemporary existential situation. |
