Description
Summary:The present work aims to analyze a new type of evangelical mission that has been present in Argentinean Chaco in the past fifteen years: the cross- -cultural mission. Through the study of texts used for training missionaries and the practices of an Argentinean organization: The Centro de Capacitación Misionera Transcultural (CCMT) - Cross Cultural Missionary Training Center-, we will discuss this model and the regional and continental scale networks which impel it. The CCMT is focus on the training of missionaries from several evangelical denominations destined as agents to evangelize “unreached people groups” around the world. As part of the missionary training, cross-cultural immersions are organized in aboriginal communities from Southwest Chaco province. Through the study of these practices we aim to show the growing importance of the links between local, regional and global in the context of the new evangelical missions in Chaco.
