| Summary: | This work deals with the influence of the Roman rhetorician Marcus Fabius Quintilian during the first two centuries of history of the Society of Jesus. In this period, a large number of Jesuits were familiar with Quintilian’s work, and used his teachings in their pedagogic and intellectual activities, contributing to the diffusion of the classical legacy. Este trabajo trata acerca de la influencia que el orador romano Marco Fabio Quintiliano mantuvo durante los dos primeros siglos de historia de la Compañía de Jesús. En este período, un elevado número de miembros de la orden jesuita fueron conocedores de la obra de Quintiliano y utilizaron sus enseñanzas en sus labores docentes e intelectuales, contribuyendo de este modo a la pervivencia y difusión del legado clásico. |
