Resumo:The documents of the Second Vatican Council contain important social consequences for the Church's mission of evangelization. In the post-conciliar period, Vida Nueva magazine, specialized in social and religious information, received the conciliar message, and tried to apply it to the circumstances of the Church and society of that time. This study analyses the contents of the editorials published by Vida Nueva from 1968 to 1975. The results display the effect of the Council on the editorial line of the magazine that, committed to the temporal order, analyses current political affairs; encourages the exercise of freedoms; defends human rights; pays preferential attention to the most vulnerable people; promotes freedom and truthful information; commits itself to economic activity at the service of citizens; addresses issues relating to personal morality discussed within the Church; preserves a dialogical stance with culture, science and technology; and proposes changes in rights, methodology and content in the educational sector.
