This article will show that the second appearance of Jesus necessarily informs an eschatology of work. More specifically, two Matthean parables of eschatological discourse will be shown to insist upon ‘watchful patience’ and ‘necessary expansion’ as shaping contours to an eschatology of work which has Christ’s parousia in mind. |
