Five other pavements, with hunting animals, were considered however as much later pieces (c. 520). This article aims at demonstrating that the gap between 459 and 520 originates from a stylistic analysis confusing style and treatment; many recent mosaic discoveries attest that the use of hunting themes started in Northern Syria before the middle of the fifth century already and spread at the most between 460 and 490. The hair-style of the hunters is comparable with some portraits in the round of the fifth century. | ||

Cette date était reprise par D. Levi. Cinq autres pavements à thèmes animaliers y étaient en revanche estimés plus tardifs (vers 520). Cette étude vise à montrer que l’important décalage de dates (de 459 à 520) est la conséquence d’une analyse stylistique erronée (confondant style et facture) ; de nombreuses découvertes récentes permettent d’affirmer que la mode des thèmes de chasse sur mosaïque s’est implantée en Syrie du Nord dès avant le milieu du ve siècle, atteignant son apogée entre 460 et 490. En outre, le type de coiffure des chasseurs trouve des parallèles sur les portraits en ronde-bosse du ve siècle. | ||
| 520 | |a فسيفساء دافني: الاكتشاف، الدراسات الأولية، ومشاكل التأريختم تأريخ لوحة الصيد الفسيفسائية "يقطو" من قبل ج. لاسوس إلى حوالي عام ٤٥٩ وذلك من خلال تمثيل حمام أردابور (موجود في أنطاكية منذ عام ٤٥٠ إلى ٤٦٦) الذي كان يظهر على حوافها. تمت إعادة التحقق من هذا التاريخ من قبل د. ليفي. من ناحية أخرى، تم تقدير عمر خمسة رصفات فسيفسائية أخرى ذات موضوعات حيوانية إلى فترة أحدث (حوالي عام ٥٢٠). تبين هذه الدراسة أن الفارق الكبير في التأريخ (من ٤٥٩ إلى ٥٢٠) هو نتيجة لتحليل أسلوبي خاطئ (أسلوب مختلط وحرفية) تؤكد العديد من الاكتشافات الحديثة أن نمط موضوعات الصيد في اللوحات الفسيفساء قد نشأ في شمال سوريا منذ منتصف القرن الخامس وبلغ ذروته بين عامي ٤٦٠ و٤٩٠. بالإضافة إلى نوع تسريحة شعر الصيادين التي تشابه التسريحات في منحوتات القرن الخامس. | ||
