The contribution compares the CEI regulations of 1999 (general decree of 20 October 1999) and those of 2018 (general decree of 24 May 2018) on the protection of good reputation and confidentiality (intimitas, privacy). Starting from the reconstruction of the reasons (of a canonical and civil nature, particularly the introduction of the General Regulation on data protection at European level) for which a new canonical regulation has been adopted, the study highlights five contexts of comparison between the two decrees: the scope of application; the conditions for the lawfulness of data processing; the figures of responsibility the rights of the data subject; supervision, control and sanctions. The different perspective with which the two decrees relate to the ecclesial reality is therefore highlighted, in order to safeguard their peculiarity, allowing lines of further possible development to emerge. |
